These will be the magnets that will eventually be used in the Dash T-Jet chassis...

Pop a set of these into your original Aurora T-Jet or your JL/AW T-Jet chassis for an instant power boost!!

These are ceramic magnets made from some of the highest grade ferrite available and are stronger than the current magnets offered by AW and on par with the magnets used in the original Johnny Lightning T-Jets.
Perhaps more important than the overall strength is that the strength of these magnets is very consistent and are matched very closely.

We had these tested by guys who race Classic T-Jets and also the JL/AW class chassis. Here's what some of them had to say:

  • of the 4 sets of mags i have we matched them and found one pair on the money and the other three close.
  • Vic used the best matched mags and saw a 4 to 5 '10th difference for the better when using the dash - and the snap out of the turn had a greater response.
  • Joe drove Vic's car and even lowered it to 6-10ths - WOW!!
  • Donny used a second set of dash mags and saw a 2-3 10th increase in lap time and agreed that there was a difference in the snap off the turn.
  • Brian used a third set of the dash mags and reported NO significance difference in the times he was running as compared to the original jl's
  • we were using VHOR/FRAY cars on the tomy tracked aurora tub @ 20 volts.
    Alan had this to say:
  • Eight NOS t-jet chassis were selected and run for twelve laps. The fastest and slowest times were discounted and the other ten were averaged. Two cars (each with the plain white Karmen Ghia body) were .003 seconds apart and were selected for the test.
    The Herbie body was chosen for the car with the Dash magnets. Twelve laps were run with each car and the fastest/slowest times were eliminated. The Dash magnets were .6 seconds quicker with a slight increase in top speed (high ohm arms) but the improvement in traction out of the turns was noticeable. Dash wins.
  • Two Tuffies were selected which had been run at the "Twelve Hours of Green Run," a proxy race which occurred two years ago, held by Roger Corrie in Virginia Beach. The time difference of the two Ferrari 250 GTOs (bodies from Jim Nagy) was well-documented, and the driver was other than myself. The yellow GTO was fitted with Dash magnets - both had matched Super Two mags previously, and both were raced on a different track with a different driver (me.) The Dash car improved .3 seconds ...
  • Conclusions: 1) For slower cars (higher ohm armatures) the improvement is most notable in torque and braking. 2) For quicker cars with lower ohm armatures, the improvement is most noticeable in top speed, as the cars are set up for more coast. 3) The improvement in times were in the 5-6% range. A 10-second car improved .6 seconds and a 6-second car car improved .3 seconds.
